Notice is hereby given that the Council of Clearwater County will be conducting a public hearing prior to considering the granting of second and third readings to Bylaw No. 1104/21.
A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Clearwater County Council Chambers. Pending the results of the public hearing, the Bylaw may proceed to second and third readings to include a definition for “Solar Farm” under Section 1.7 – Definitions and the addition of “Solar Farm” under Discretionary Uses – Section B of Section 13.4(1) of the Agriculture District “A”.
“Solar Farm” means a power plant consisting of active or passive solar panels and related facilities connected to the Alberta Electricity System used for the production of electrical power. Solar farms should be associated or part of traditional farming practices.
The Hearing will be conducted under the Chairmanship of the Reeve or her designated person for the purpose of hearing options, comments, and objections to the proposal.

Notice is hereby given that the Council of Clearwater County will be conducting a public hearing prior to considering the granting of second and third readings to Bylaw No. 1092/20. This bylaw is to redesignate +/- 40 acres from the Agriculture District "A” to the Recreational Facility District "RF” (Plan 922 1292, Block 2).
A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 25th, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at Clearwater County Council Chambers.

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
BYLAW 1044/18
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE LAND USE BYLAW
REGARDING CANNABIS RETAIL SALES & CANNABIS PRODUCTION FACILITIES
With the upcoming legalization of cannabis for recreational purposes ClearwaterCounty’s Planning Department has been researching land use regulations regarding the sale of cannabis. Clearwater County is proposing to amend the Land Use Bylaw to help guide administration and the Municipal Planning Commission in dealing with future development permit applications for cannabis retail sales. In addition, Bylaw 1044/18 would amend a portion of the Land Use Bylaw pertaining to Cannabis Production Facilities and their setbacks from existing developments.
On August 28th, 2018, Clearwater County Council granted first reading to Bylaw No. 1044/18, the purpose of which is to amend the Land Use Bylaw to allow for cannabis sales to be considered on commercially zoned lands within Clearwater County and to clarify the intent of Section 7.12 (2) & (3) in regard to setbacks for Cannabis Production Facilities from other developments.
A copy of the Bylaw describing the proposed amendments is attached.

Bylaw 1040/18
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE LAND USE BYLAW REGARDING MEDICAL MARIJUANA PRODUCTION FACILITIES
With the legalization of marijuana for medical purposes Clearwater County’s Planning Department has been researching land use regulations in regards to the production of medical marijuana. As a result of this research Clearwater County is proposing to amend the Land Use Bylaw to help guide administration and the Municipal Planning Commission on how to deal with future development permit applications for medical marijuana production facilities.
As a result, Clearwater County Council granted first reading to Bylaw No. 1040/18, the purpose of which is to amend the Land Use Bylaw to allow for medical marijuana production facilities to be considered on industrial zoned lands within Clearwater County.
