Public Hearings

Public hearings are an opportunity for people who are affected by projects or proposals to address Clearwater County Council during regular Council meetings. Public hearing are required by the Municipal Government Act (MGA) as part of the adoption or amendment process for statutory plans, the Clearwater County's Land Use Bylaw, or as necessary.

Development Permit Approvals

The following development permits have been approved or conditionally approved under the provisions of Clearwater County's Land Use Bylaw.

Anyone claiming to be affected by such decision may appeal the decision by serving written notice of appeal within twenty-one (21) days of the date of the decision.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission of Clearwater County has approved the issuing of development permits for the following Discretionary uses:

Development Permit 205/24 Division 5 Tobias Rapley for the legalization of a guest house and an ancillary building with variances. Date of Decision: December 5, 2024

Development Permit 210/24 Division 3 Nick and Shanelle Terpstra for the Placement of a Manufactured Home. Date of Decision: December 6, 2024

Notice of appeal, accompanied by a $400.00 appeal fee, should be addressed to the Clerk, Subdivision & Development Appeal Board, Clearwater County.

Notice of appeal, accompanied by a $400.00 appeal fee, should be addressed to the Clerk, Subdivision & Development Appeal Board, Clearwater County.

Development Permit 204/24 Division 1 Keith Owen Stewart for the placement of a manufactured home with addition as the second residence on a lot that is 32 hectares (80 acres) or larger on NW 04-38-08-W5M. Date of Decision: November 21, 2024

 NOTICE is hereby given that the Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission of Clearwater County has approved the issuing of development permits for the following Discretionary uses:

Development Permit 188/24 Division 1 Adam Bartko and Brittany Gilbert for the construction of a residence for a bona fide need on Plan 962 3893, Block 1, Lot 1 (Pt. SW 28-38-07-W5M). Date of Decision: November 20, 2024

Development Permit 196/24 Division 6 Donville Price and Tamara Nadasde-Price for the legalization of a tradesperson’s business on NW 05-36-05-W5M. Date of Decision: November 20, 2024

Development Permit 197/24 Division 4 Nicole and Craig Matheson for the legalization of a farm subsidiary business and the use of an attached garage as a farm store on NE 10-37-07-W5M.  Date of Decision: November 20, 2024

Development Permit 200/24 Division 5 Sean and Maegan Beattie for the construction of construction of an ancillary building with relaxations to the maximum floor area and height, legalization of a woodshed as an ancillary building, and the conversion of an ancillary building to a guest house, with variances to the undisturbed tree buffer on Plan 042 4693, Block 6, Lot 19 (Pt. SE 04-41-15-W5M). Date of Decision: November 20, 2024

Development Permit 201/24 Division 5 Aurum Lodge for the construction of eight guest cabins various ancillary buildings associated with Aurum Experience Ltd. on SW & NW 26-37-18-W5M. Date of Decision: November 20, 2024
