Public Hearings


Public hearings are an opportunity for people who are affected by projects or proposals to address Clearwater County Council during regular Council meetings. Public hearing are required by the Municipal Government Act (MGA) as part of the adoption or amendment process for statutory plans, the Clearwater County's Land Use Bylaw, or as necessary.

NEW! Public hearing participants can now speak in favour or in opposition of a bylaw by joining the hearing online.

Historically, interested parties have had to speak in person in Council Chambers. Now they can choose between appearing in person or online.

Development Permit Approvals


The following development permits have been approved or conditionally approved under the provisions of Clearwater County's Land Use Bylaw.

Anyone claiming to be affected by such decision may appeal the decision by serving written notice of appeal within twenty-one (21) days of the date of the decision.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission of Clearwater County has approved the issuing of development permits for the following Permitted uses:

Development Permit 54/25 Ward 5 Canista Investments Ltd. for the operation of a professional office with a variance to the signage requirements of the Nordegg Development Plan Design and Guidelines and the construction of a canopy on Plan 232 0829, Block 2, Lot 14 (E 27-40-15-W5M). Date of Decision: May 8, 2025

Development Permit 56/25 Ward 5 Tyler Jordan for the placement of a new manufactured home on Pla n202 0568, Block 1, Lot 15 (Pt. NE 27-40-15-W5M). Date of Decision: May 9, 2025

 NOTICE is hereby given that the Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission of Clearwater County has approved the issuing of development permits for the following Discretionary uses:

Development Permit 71/25 Ward 3 Gary Wipf for the construction of a residential shop on Plan 072 7475, Block 1, Lot 1 (Pt. NE 08-38-05-W5M). Date of Decision: May 6, 2025

Development Permit 73/25 Ward 5 Christian Groleau for the construction of an ancillary building with a variance to the minimum front yard setback on Plan 182 2537, Block 1, Lot 2 (Pt. NE 32-39-07-W5M). Date of Decision: May 5, 2025
