In recent years, short-term rental platforms such as Airbnb have become a major addition to the tourism sector in this region. This has allowed tourists to have a variety of experiences within the County, including access to areas previously visited and unvisited.
As of June 13, 2023, Clearwater County approved a new Short-Term Rental Bylaw 1139/23 (click here to learn more) which puts measures in place to mitigate negative impacts on the surrounding community such as licence requirements, application forms, enforcement procedures, and penalties.
Short-term rentals provide residential (including leisure) rental accommodation for 30 consecutive days or less.
