Council has also heard concerns from residents about how subdivision activity is managed, especially when it comes to growth happening faster than local roads, water systems, and other essential infrastructure can support. These concerns are part of the reason Council is reviewing Section 10 of the Municipal Development Plan.
The goal is to ensure subdivision policies help guide responsible, well‑paced growth, so new development fits the capacity of existing services and doesn’t place added strain on the community. This focus on balancing growth with infrastructure readiness is shaping the proposed updates now moving forward for public input.
